The Connected Car is set to revolutionize the automotive experience over the next decade. The system architectures that will make this possible are very unclear right now - the tension between the auto manufacturers and the phone manufacturers is almost palpable. In the carmesh project (http://carmesh.eu) we take the view that the phone will be the hub which will facilitate service delivery and the car interface will be realized using an open source platform: the car will provide UI components to the app running on the mobile device as well as information coming from the car. In this talk, we focus on the technologies we are using to implement demonstrators of these services.
