Erika Enterprise (http://http://erika.tuxfamily.org) is the first Open-Source RTOS certified OSEK/VDX and born for the automotive market. The AUTOSAR OS compliance is under development. It supports a variety of 8, 16 and 32 bit microcontrollers (including multi-cores) and it has been already used in industrial automotive products. A set of free development tools allow to easily create and test new applications.
Erika Enterprise is a minimal RTOS (a few KB of footprint) for real-time control of physical devices (e.g., an automotive engine). Thus, it is not a competitor of Linux, which is a complex and powerful OS.
During the speech, the main characteristics of this RTOS will be shown and the main differences between an OSEK/VDX RTOS and Linux will be explained. Then, we will show a fully integrated Open-Source solution for the automotive market consisting in a multi-core platfor
