The crossroads between cars and phones, staying connected while driving safely As open source solutions enter more markets, it has to take into account the history, players and unique characteristics of the market to be successful. This is particularly the case in Automotive IVI which is traditionally a closed and tightly managed development effort. As consumers become connected in the home and on their smart phones, open source brings this connectedness to the car but with respect to the safety and nuances of the automotive industry. We will look at Tizen IVI , one of the most open IVI platforms and how it is changing the way car manufacturers innovate and collaborate.
